What is One-Slot and what is Four-Slot?
First of all it has nothing to do with the number of players who can use a Tee-Time. Both systems allow up to four players on a Tee Time.
The difference is that the one-slot system only allows one "booking" per tee time, but the four-slot system allows as many bookings for that tee-time as it takes to fill all four "slots" at that time.
If the four-slot system is implemented, it means that a two-ball could book a week in advance for 10.30 on a Tuesday, and find when they turn up, that another two players have subsequently booked the two remaining slots on that time. Either separately, or as another two ball.
The four-slot system is very common in Ireland, but not in Scotland or England. However, having said that, the busier courses often use a four slot system so that they are able to accommodate all the players wishing to play.
Let me finish by repeating that if you chose the One-Slot system, you will still be able to send out four players on one Tee Time.
